Highlights

Welcome to the new site of World Drum Major Association, Inc. WDMA is a non-profit organization dedicated to educating, promoting, and preserving the history of flourishing Drum Majors.  Now in its second year of serving the Drum Major Community, WDMA has achieved nearly the impossible; creating the largest amount of monetary and tuition sponsored incentive and scholarships for Drum Majors, the largest competitive solo circuit for scholastic Drum Majors, co-hosting the first United States National Drum Major Championships, and increasing competitor numbers at Highland Games Drum Major to the largest they’ve ever been in the Western United States.

WDMA Scoresheets for 2010

World Drum Major Association has redesigned scoresheets for the 2010 Solo Competitive Season.  The new sheets bring Drum Majoring to a new level  and on par with related marching arts.  The new sheets include a rubric and a comprehensive breakdown with standards for each caption to standardize the adjudication process.  View the new sheets below:

15.06.2010 World Drum Major Association is holding our first Drum Major Day Camp at Alvarado Intermediate School on July 17th, 2010. This will be an all-day event that will start at 9:00am, and finish at 5:30pm. Drum Majors will have classes covering everything from Leadership, Spinning Techniques, Routine Construction, and Effective Parade Preparation. Breakfast and lunch will be provided for the day. Day Camp with WDMA July 17th, 2010

28.06.2010 Labor Day Weekend (September 4th and 5th) is the 145th Scottish Highland Games and Gathering, featuring one of the largest and most prestigious drum major and pipe band contest in North America. Last year’s event saw prize monies reaching $1,000, a perpetual gold mace, and a scholarship to the amateur competitor of the weekend. In an effort to encourage even more competitors at this prestigious event, WDMA will be supplying uniform parts on a first come, first serve basis. FIND OUT MOREWDMA_Pleasanton.html
