A Worldwide Activity

Drum Majoring is a worldwide activity that involves participation from Military Bands, Pipe Bands, Middle School and High School Marching Bands, University Marching Bands, Drum Corps, as well as independent enthusiasts. World Drum Major Association’s website serves as a resource to connect these various idioms and is as an online publication dedicated to creating public awareness for Drum Majoring.

Education

With the cooperation of the various available educational Drum Major organizations and individuals, WDMA provides pedagogic clinics and seminars to Drum Majors whenever and wherever possible.

Scholarships

In order to stimulate and perpetuate the sport and art of Drum Majoring, WDMA annually awards merit-based scholarships to students looking to further their education and skills in Drum Majoring.  These scholarships come in the form of monetary value as well as tuition costs and expenses for clinics, seminars, and events worldwide.

In its first year as a non-profit organization, World Drum Major Association has offered up to $1,500 in scholarships to scholastic Drum Majors.  Additionally, WDMA has worked with other existing non-profit organizations to provide tuition-sponsored scholarships to various clinics nationwide.

Instrumental music programs co-hosting WDMA’s solo competitive circuit have benefitted $1,000 from WDMA, including additional money from fundraising opportunities.

Over $1,800 in plaques, medals, and perpetual awards were awarded to Drum Majors participating in WDMA solo competitions.

Working in conjunction with equipment manufacturers, WDMA has co-sponsored over $6,000 worth of incentives and perpetual awards for various Drum Major idioms.

As Drum Majoring is attached to already financially diminishing programs such as the musical arts, it is imperative that Drum Majoring not only sustain a strong foundation, but continuously grows for future generations to enjoy.  Your generous financial donation of any amount will help Drum Majors receive the aforementioned benefits through World Drum Major Association.

World Drum Major Association, Inc. is a registered non-profit organization and has 501(c)(3) tax-exemption status to the Internal Revenue Service.  All donations are tax-deductible.
